mediated architecture
LVA 253.H26 UE Wahlfach W24 2.5 ECTS
Betreuung: Sandra Häuplik-Meusburger, Verena Holzgethan
This course is an extension to the Emerging Fields in Architecture module and can also be taken as an independent course. It is aimed at students who wish to deepen their knowledge in a specific subject area, whether as preparation for a thesis or as a complement to a design project.
In the course, interview techniques are used as a tool to deepen knowledge. An interview can be a valuable tool for discussing relevant topics for one’s own work with renowned researchers, planners, thinkers, etc. Afterwards, a podcast is created from the interviews and published online. Selected contributions are also broadcast on a radio show. The following topics will be covered:
Input on interview preparation and techniques
Concept development for podcasts and radio shows
Introduction to editing techniques
The topics for the radio shows are aligned with the contents of the “Emerging Fields in Architecture” module. In the winter semester, we will address current and future challenges in planning and building within a broader social, ecological, and technological context. The lectures and discussions will explore questions such as: What kind of future do we want to create? What role(s) does architecture play in this? What tools and technologies are available to us? What visions exist, and where are they leading us? What can we learn from other disciplines for a sustainable architecture? What lessons can be drawn from the past for future projects?
Selected contributions will be broadcast on the Radio Spaceuriosity show on Radio Orange.
