Kjetil Trædal Thorsen was born in Haugesund (N) in 1958, studied at the Graz University of Technology and co-founded the architectural practice Snøhetta in 1989. The Oslo Opera House, the Lascaux IV Museum and the Bibliotheca Alexandrina are among the numerous international award-winning projects. In addition to international teaching assignments, he was a professor at the Institute for Experimental Architecture at the University of Innsbruck from 2004 to 2008.
