like many italian municipalities, arnara is characterised by emigration, ageing and urban sprawl.
at a time when the future seems uncertain and positive utopias are in short supply, architectural interventions are intended to create a creative centre for active and theoretical engagement with architecture, art and history, to re-emphasise the importance of the medieval castle and thus initiate positive internal and external development.
2023 also marks the 140th anniversary of the birth of the futurist arturo ciacelli, who was born in arnara – a thought-provoking start to look to the future.
