Johann Georg Gsteu, born in 1927, is one of the 'grand old' architects of the Austrian Second Republic. His consistently modern buildings and projects are convoncing examples of innovative power and experimental character. Professor of Architecture and Design at the Polytechnic in Kassel in the years 1983-93 and later as part of a visiting professor of design at the University of Innsbruck he could convey a notion of architecture apart from commerce and representation to a future generations of architects.
