The excursion in the winter semester of 2021 will follow in the footsteps of the Graz School and visit selected buildings from it. At the same time, the focus is also on current projects that have emerged in the extended temporal and spatial environment.

This brochure is the sum of the works of the participating students, including a preparatory research on the one hand and a preoccupation with the architecture on site on the other. The task was - after the preparatory research in internet and books - to refine the view on architecture from the large scale to the detail on site. In doing so, the students had to take what they considered to be a representative photo depicting the architectural concept and spatial effect, and make a drawing of a selected detail. Only by combining the acquisition of knowledge through research with a close look on site can architecture be experienced intensively in its entirety.
can be experienced intensively. Only by looking at buildings on site, in their immediate spatial surroundings and urban context, is it possible to gain a complete picture of architecture. Only the intensity of all these perceptions leaves a lasting impression of built architecture and thus creates a repertoire of references for the students, which they can consciously or unconsciously fall back on in the course of their lives.
